Obituary and Will of Khim (Character Bio 10/20)

Tonight we honor the death of Khim.

Khim was an honest, good petty dwarf slain by Androg. Androg had let loose arrows thinking none of them had struck true. In the fog it was difficult to see, but when they went onward they knew something was amiss. This, the idea that nothing had struck true, was not the case and an arrow intended for a foe stuck down an innocent. Mim was the first to find him and did not have long before his son died before his eyes. In his last moments, Khim shared that he regretted not being able to do more and he was sorry to go so soon. They had only traveled so far together beforeTurin had captured Mim. The arrow had hit his chest and what might have been healable with magic had no shot. Mim himself had been kept from healing Khim due to his bonds to Turin.

Knowing the events as to what occurred, we will now read out the will of Khim:

“This is the will of Khim, son of Mim and brother to Ibun. As one of the last of the pretty dwarves to roam Middle Earth, and in the event of my untimely passing, I entrust my life’s work to my brother Ibun. I know that he will support father well and do more than enough to make up for my absence. As a petty dwarf we may have been separated from the rest of the dwarves, but out of that came a true sense of self and identity. We are unlike any others. To my brother and my father, I hope you continue to preserve.”

May he rest in peace.
